Martial Arts

Ryukyu Kempo, from Okinawa, combines Kyusho-jitsu (one second pressure point fighting) and Tuite-jitsu (joint lock grappling). The secrets of this ancient martial art are revealed in kata (forms comprised of defensive movements and strikes performed in sequential order to train automatic response).

Professor George Dillman of Dillman Karate International, is to be credited with revealing the true meaning of Kata in regard to using pressure points. His years of tireless research in this area brought this knowledge not only to the western hemisphere, but he is revered in the orient as well, for his expertise. Guardian Martial Arts studies the theory of pressure point fighting that interprets the movements and techniques of katas (karate forms) as strikes or grapples on pressure points.  Techniques vary in effectiveness and can be used to stun, knock out, or render lethal consequences to an aggressor. The latter, being undesirable and used only in extreme self-defense situations, makes this pressure point system an effective, yet potentially non-debilitating self-defense system for the serious martial artist.

Small Circle Jujitsu, founded by Professor Wally Jay (left picture below, far right), is now in the very competent hands (literally) of his son, Professor Leon Jay (right picture below, right). Wally Jay, in his ninety plus years of living (and still going strong) tweaked Jujitsu to a new level for the entire world. Also, Professor Jay has always recognized the value of using pressure points in a real combative art verses safety rules of competition such as Judo. Professor Leon Jay, being a Master of pressure point karate as well, implements this theory into Small Circle Jujitsu.

Modern Arnis,  developed by the late Grand Master Remy Amador Presas (above far left and below right), is a brilliantly conceived Filipino martial art blending the best elements of  Jujitsu, Karate, and Filipino stick and knife fighting. Grandmaster Presas combined the knowledge of many arts that he mastered during his lifetime. Professor Presas, a world champion fighter, created Modern Arnis and shared his knowledge with his students the world over.

Tapi-Tapi, which means counter for counter, is a primary stick fighting drill in Modern Arnis. This drill also enhances both empty hand and knife fighting abilities by teaching smooth flow from one technique to another. The over all training benefit is quick counter response to any given attack. "Finishing" follow ups include Filipino Jujitsu with  joint locking and take downs to ground submission. Although specializing in stick fighting and knife defense, all techniques are effective with  "empty hand", which makes Modern Arnis very comprehensive and extremely versatile.

Self-Defense programs are  created from various styles of martial arts. Self-defense techniques are trained for specific attack scenarios. Learn various techniques of self-defense, including escape tactics (from holds and chokes), joint locks, takedowns and vital strikes to neutralize or control an assailant. Learn to defend weapon attacks. The above martial arts are combined to tailor an individualized self-defense program that is appropriate and effective for your size and strength.  Private lessons are available for individuals or groups.
